The initial telephone conversation was brilliant as we got to talk about his behaviour and were offered some advice before we met. We both enjoyed our 2 hour behaviour session. Hugo is reactive to any other dog except our own which makes it impossible to take him anywhere with other people. We were given the skills to start his training both at home and outside. He enjoys the training and more importantly it has given me the confidence to deal with the situation when on walks. We travelled 8 hours in total to meet Ste and it was worth every minute and we will be going back up in the next couple of months. Yesterday we jumped in and took him to Hunstanton beach where there were a lot of dogs and he coped very well- definitely work in progress but early days! Had ste around from pure canine for two sessions at home now ( 2 hours each) I initially reached out to pure canine for my older dog ( both dogs cocker spaniels 2 and 1 and abit) for resource guarding, but ste has worked with both of my boys and taught me a lot of tips on how to get the boys more enjoyable to be around, to not jumping up and not running crazy 24/7 and taught me alot about there behaviours in the two sessions ste has been around and training kept up by myself the improvement I have seen is unbelievable! Helped me with taking them on a walk and them not pulling on a lead. Ste has helped massively with the issues with resource guarding and many more within both my boys. Couldn’t recommend them enough making my life with the dogs so much better and with a baby on the way has put my mind at rest that I could have to amazing gentle dogs with me keeping up with there training! ~ sophie w

It’s been nearly a week since myself and my little over excitable reactive terrier completed our 2 hour initial assessment session with Ste and I’m was very very happy. The first thing that struck me immediately was his approach, the calmness and willingness to actually listen to me explain our journey so far and not just answer a question like a robot but explain the process. I learnt so much about tailoring my methods to improve my relationship and leadership with my dog. Great session, great direction would highly recommend Ste to anybody as I’ve already seen an improvements in behaviour and responsiveness in both myself and Ruby my little dog. Thank you. ~ angus b

After a phone call from Ste giving us advice and guidance we booked the 2 hour “obedience one”. From arriving at our home Ste observed our dog and us explaining why issues were occurring. Our dog is a rehome who barks at bigger dogs when on lead. We practiced passing a dog manoeuvres with his own dog in the streets, had a pack walk learning how to introduce ours to another, and did relaxing techniques outside with distractions all around us with superb results all in such a short time. Ste put us at ease quickly, explained everything in laymans terms and made sure we understood everything before moving on. He is very knowledgeable and answered all our questions & gave us practical solutions. We 100% recommend Ste and will not hesitate to contact him again should any further issues arise. I called ste to help with my 9 month old lab who was having (what I thought) severe separation anxiety. 2 hours with Ste and he identified that the issue was actually that my dog was unable to be calm. After just one session I already feel so much more confident in spotting my dog’s behaviour and the help and advice given to us has made us feel so much better already! We can’t wait for the next four weeks, we are confident following Ste’s guidance that we are going to have a much calmer, well rounded pet. I am delighted with the progress Nelly (our adopted Retriever) has made since we started working with Ste. Ste introduced us to a figure 8 lead to calm Nelly down while outside especially on a walk, and at first, I was worried that this would be too challenging for Nelly, but with each day, she is becoming more confident and adept at using the lead. I have to admit, it's been amazing to see Nelly's transformation. She's turning into a different dog in the house, she's a lot more attentive and seems to have calmed down a lot. I would highly recommend Ste to anyone who's struggling with their dog's behaviour or training. Ste has been a game-changer for us, and I'm so grateful for the support and guidance that he's provided. Couldn’t have asked for a better training session. Ste was professional and engaging for both myself and the puppy. I have left with a new confidence when working with the puppy to break some of the bad habits he has formed both in the house surrounding crate training but also when out and about walking. Ste was able to quickly adapt the session to cover all the points of concern that we had raised while booking and based on his observations on the day. In addition the offer of a follow up call a few weeks later just shows the level of dedication Ste has to ensure your managing to implement the lessons he has taught Overall would highly recommend Ste and the rest of the team ~ Jack W

Had a 2 hour session with Ste who def knew his stuff. He taught us about the psychology of dogs very quickly, arming us with the skills and confidence to continue training our 2 golden doodles (who we had thought were pretty much untrainable). He has a really friendly approach, is calm and confident and showed us how we can, without even speaking, control our dogs. By the end of 2 hours I felt like we understood how their brains work. It was like having different dogs by the end of the session. They are both much much calmer. It was without a doubt, the best money we’ve spent on them. We found Ste online thanks to the fantastic reviews and could not be happier. Our puppy Rex has had 2 training sessions with Ste now and even after the first hour was a different dog. He no longer pulls on the lead and will sit calmly in our lounge when he’s invited in. Rex also goes to day care with Ste and the team and loves it. He gets to practice his gundog skills and the pack walks tire him out. Ste truely works to understand you and your dog and how it fits with your family and lifestyle. There’s no one size fits all approach. To top it all off he’s a genuinely lovely guy and most importantly Rex loves him ~ Beth a

Initial phone consultation with Ste followed by a two hour behaviour session. Ste is non-judgemental, very calm, attentive and observant. We learned a lot about our own behaviour and actions and how that has been impacting our dog's behaviour. It's still early days but we are starting to see small changes in helping our gorgeous, energetic GSP to self calm. Huge improvements with him walking next to us rather than pulling ahead. We'll be updating Ste in a few weeks so he can assess how we're all doing and if/what next steps are needed. Highly recommend. ~ J C

After just one session I have been astounded at the difference in my dog. He pulled terribly on the lead and the first walk after this session he was so much better. It’s definitely work in progress, but I have the knowledge now to continue with what Ste has shown me. After completing a second session and being able to combine fun games for my dog to enjoy and achieving what I would like. Steve has worked wonders with Edith 10 months of Hungarian Vizsla. She is full on, a very typical Vizsla and he has shown me how to 'control' her, using a long lead for recall and to ignore the distraction of other dogs and/or their toys. She has responded brilliantly and with practice out of sessions, she really is coming on well. We have utilised the secure field at 5 Acres for last few weeks and now ready for an open space with 'real' distractions..... everything crossed. I have every confidence in Steves training methods as Edith had responded so quickly and just 'loves him' Its so worth it yo me to get Edith trained up, to be a dog who responds to my commands. It gives me peace of mind and will allow me, moving forward to advance her training to potentially work her. I show her now and somevof what Steve has suggested has certainly, helped with her ringcraft training too. Huge thanks and big recommendation for Steve. NB Edith 'butter wouldn't melt!!!! ~ Nicky M

River and I have had our first training session with Ste. Ste is very knowledgeable and knows and understands dogs. I had issues with River, my 8 month old Rottweiler puppy, getting over excited on lead walks which would end up with her biting the lead and me when I tried to correct her. Ste has taught me how to calm River down without speaking to her. Just by body language and touch. He is a very calm and patient teacher. I know that with his guidance and help, I will enable my Rottweiler puppy to become a fantastic, well rounded adult. I have tried a few other trainers but nothing has worked like what I have been taught by Ste. I wish I had contacted Pure Canine sooner, as Ste has taught me more in one session than the other trainers did in several sessions. Following the session I had lots of questions, which Ste was very quick to respond to. I highly recommend Ste and Pure Canine to anyone who is struggling with their 4 legged friend. ~ lizzard m

Getting in touch with Steve at Pure Canine was the best thing we could have ever done. We have just got a 9 week old Vizsla and it is our first dog we’ve owned. We wanted to get started in the right way and get the best out of Rosie and ourselves. It started with a 20 min free call which started off the best coaching and advice ever. This chat got Rosie sleeping through the night by the fourth day we’d had her. This was the best feeling ever, and to actually get a full nights sleep was amazing. We then went onto booking a puppy home visit. This was a 2 hour session which gave us an introduction into more crate training and home lead training. Again this worked amazingly from the start teaching Rosie the basic foundations of what she can and can’t do. This is just a start for us, but long may it continue for us all to have the best life together. I can’t recommend them enough, there’s knowledge is unreal and a method everyone should work to. ~ Charlie T

Like other reviewers, my experience with Ste was excellent. He understands that each dog is different, and there are no one-size-fits-all methods. He listened to our concerns (overexcitability in a big puppy), asked questions, and tried out solutions in our two hour session. AND, he taught us and watched us work with the new techniques and approaches. The free telephone consultation was really helpful, gave us a chance to figure out if he could help us. I would recommend Pure Canine 100%, we learnt so much from one session we were completely blown away! The knowledge and experience is first class and the communication of instructions perfectly clear and very very effective! We feel we arrived with one dog and left with another! I reached out to Ste as I needed some help with my 3 year old labrador who has been pulling on the lead and being very reactive when he saw other dogs. I had my first session today and it's been an absolute game changer. Ste's knowledge is exceptional. I've put the session into practise on this afternoons walk and can't believe the difference. Ste was brilliant with us and Kiwi. He really explained, why he was showing us each technique, and more importantly how it was going to help us with Kiwi, he showed us, the had us do it, so we were confident with it; we’ve got a plan now, of what kiwi needs form us to help her confidence which will help stop her pulling on the lead; for the first time, I feel like I actually understand her and can give her what she needs, I feel much better about it all! Ste was amazing! I had the puppy class and my puppy (4.5 month border collie-beagle mix) was immediately better with Ste, and with me once Ste explained how to communicate properly with him. Ste really took the time to explain why and how everything works, and the methods he showed me have been wonderful when using them since. After our first session with Ste we’re already seeing a difference in our dog’s lead walking. Ste was patient, explained things really well and we got straight down to practising techniques that would help with our Labrador’s persistent lead pulling. We found Ste to be completely non-judgemental and realistic about what we could achieve. Spoke to Ste in a phone call initially and he was able to give us some tips during this call, we went on to book the Puppy Session to help us with our terrier's biting. Ste was so calm and helped calm our puppy whilst explaining how to deal with the biting and why he was biting. There has been a big improvement both in the house and whilst walking where he would bite our shoes. It's a work in progress but I'm confident we will go on to be successful. Great behaviour training session. 💯 recommended Called for help and advice due to having behaviour problems with my malinois puppy and they were happy to take me on board. Great conversation over the phone so I decided to Book a home visit and in the first 15 mins I could see the difference in my puppy’s behaviour. 2 hours after the session we had a completely different puppy. Went to see ste at 13 00 on 12 11 24 lovely pleasant chap who by 13 10 had our 7 month old black lab Fred walking by his side not pulling which is why we took him then Ste got me to walk him , absolutely perfect even my wife who could not hold him when he was pulling walked him round the garden without problems.Ste was really nice explaining everything he did and why he did it we are going back in 4 weeks and would not hesitate to recommend pure canine to anyone with dog problems ~ Dennis P

I have contacted Pure Canine Ltd to help me to assess my American Bully XL and make a work plan after Rishi Sunak announced that he want to ban XL’s. They did assess his behaviour. Most importantly I had to work on keeping his excitement down and helped me with his “ballerina “ lead walk . Amazing experience and Ronnie got it all in no time. Just after one session, it’s a different kind of walkies experience! Couldn’t be thankful enough and will definitely use them again ! Highly recommended! ~ Anita T
